Definition: Psithurism

Definition: The rustling sound of leaves in the wind, the sound of wind through trees.

An adaptation of the Ancient Greek psíthuros meaning “whispering” or “slanderous”, Psithurism is largely obsolete in the current vernacular of English-speakers.

But the next time you hear that whoosh and rustle… know that it has a name.

It’s called Psithurism.

Then ask the person standing next to you to marry you, because it’s just that sort of day.
