An adaptation of the Ancient Greek psíthuros meaning “whispering” or “slanderous”, Psithurism is largely obsolete in the current vernacular of English-speakers.
But the next time you hear that whoosh and rustle… know that it has a name.
It’s called Psithurism.
Then ask the person standing next to you to marry you, because it’s just that sort of day.
